In addition to these facilities, Meacham is the only general aviation airport in the D/FW Metroplex with a parallel runway for pattern work and flight training which makes it the perfect flight-training airport.

Meacham International Airport has three award-winning Fixed Base Operators (FBOs). FBOs are airport service centers responsible for aircraft services, such as passenger handling, aircraft fueling, parking, maintenance, charters, rentals, flight training and de-icing. FBOs also take care of ground handling services, like towing and baggage handling, and other services, such as car rentals, hotel reservations and pilot lounges.

U.S. Customs

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) currently provides on-call services for international general aviation flights at Meacham International Airport. Those interested in utilizing Customs at Meacham Airport must call 972-973-9825 to arrange the arrival time. A minimum of 48-hour notice is required for customs clearance. In a continuous effort to improve airport facilities, Meacham is currently in the process of becoming a Customs User Fee Airport.

Customs aircraft must park on the Customs apron currently located on the western area of Apron-B near the Airport Administration Building. The Customs officer will meet the aircraft there with Airport Operations.

Jeff Kloska, Assistant Airport System Director

Jeff Kloska was named the airport manager for Meacham International Airport in 2012. A native of Colorado, Kloska came to Texas six years ago as an employee of the City of Fort Worth Aviation Department from 2009-2010. After spending almost three years with Dallas’ Love Field, Kloska returned to Fort Worth to take over management duties at Meacham.


William B. Welstead, A.A.E, Airport System Director

William B. Welstead was promoted to director of the City of Fort Worth Aviation System in May 2012 after assuming the role of acting director in February 2012. He has full management responsibility for the system, supports the infrastructure services assistant city manager and recommends policies to the Aviation Advisory Board and City Council for the city’s three airports.

Helicopter Operations

Meacham International Airport is a strong supporter of helicopter operations and encourages use of the airport by all helicopter users. Meacham provides two helipad landing surfaces on the airport’s west side for helicopter practice. Meacham Airport also allows auto-rotation practice landings on Taxiway-B. No skidding landings are approved on Runway 17/35, these are restricted to Taxiway-B. Please call the airport’s management with any questions.
